2022 WAS A YEAR OF PREMIERES AND JOYOUS RECONNECTION WITH AUDIENCES

After the roughest Covid-years, 2022 was a great year for Johanna Nuutinen + Collaborators.

We had four premieres: the stage premiere of OPIA at Zodiak – Centre for New Dance; Hz, the first piece commissioned by Tero Saarinen Company from a guest choreographer at Dance House Helsinki; SURGE, commissioned for the Finnish National Ballet’s 100th Anniversary and ZERO-ZERO, commissioned by Skånes Dansteater in Malmö, Sweden.

The sense of success of the year was heightened by the joyous reconnection with audiences! Around 11 500 spectators experienced these works in Finland, Sweden and Estonia!

2022 was a year of good organisational development as well for the young company. Johanna Nuutinen + Collaborators secured a grant for international export and networking for 2023-2024, which enables concentration of internationalisation on a new level.
